Strategic Thrust: This is a direction (apart from critical competencies) chosen by the Association, in conformity with the Association’s Core Purpose that will enable it to overcome current and future obstacles and to accomplish the Strategic Vision.

CORE PURPOSE
The core purpose of the Realtors® Association of the Palm Beaches is to enhance its members’ ability and opportunity to conduct their real estate businesses professionally, ethically, successfully and profitably.
CORE VALUES
The Association will conduct its affairs in keeping with the following values:
• The free enterprise system represents the most beneficial form of economic organization;
• Everyone has the right to own, transfer and use private property;
• The Association’s members must exhibit the highest level of professional and ethical business practices;
• The Association must be both proactive and responsive to the trends and changes that impact the real estate industry and its members’ needs;
• The Association must be dedicated to clear and open communications with its members
STRATEGIC VISION
Have its members recognized for the effective delivery of professional, ethical real estate services.
STRATEGIC THRUSTS (not in priority order)
Strategic Thrust A: Communication – The Association must maximize opportunities for two-way communications with its members, FAR, NAR and RMLS.
Strategic Thrust B: Professional Development – The Association must increase the professional competency and business acumen of its members to prepare them to be successful.
Strategic Thrust C: Public Policy – The Association must have a significant, positive influence on the regulation of the real estate industry; private property rights; and quality of life issues in Palm Beach County and the State of Florida.
Strategic Thrust D: Membership Services – The Association must identify and provide effective programs, products and services that make it indispensable to its members.
Strategic Thrust E: Public Image – The Association must promote the positive image of Realtors® and the value of the professional services they provide.
Strategic Thrust F: Technology – The Association must maximize its use of technology in the development, promotion and delivery of programs, products and services.
CRITICAL COMPETENCIES (not in priority order)
The following Critical Competencies must be considered along with the strategic thrusts contained in the Strategic Plan to form the basis for the Association’s annual business plan and program budget.
The Realtors® Association of the Palm Beaches must maintain and improve its abilities to:
1. Educate its members about the Realtors Code of Ethics and promote and protect the Realtor® Service Marks;
2. Provide relevant, high quality education and technology training programs;
3. Advocate Association positions on real estate related issues to elected and appointed government officials at all levels;
4. Provide programs and services that assist members in reducing and managing their risk of doing business;
5. Provide opportunities for the effective communications/information sharing between and among the Association and its members;
6. Inform and educate members about, and involve members in, the legislative and political processes at all levels;
7. Identify and support political candidates and issues supportive of private property rights, free enterprise and other Realtor® issues;
8. Provide programs, products and services, which enhance the public’s image of the real estate profession, standardize professional practices and assist members in their real estate sales and management activities.
9. Ensure and provide the human and financial resources needed to govern and operate the Association in an effective manner, on an ongoing basis, for the benefit of its members.
10. Establish and maintain budgeting and financial management practices that ensure the fiscal and operational integrity of the Association and its ability to provide critical competency –based programs and services.
11. Maintain current, and plan for the future, the facility and equipment needs of the Association to ensure the timely delivery of quality programs, products and services.
